The Centre
The river itself is the perfect whitewater classroom with excellent coaching sites, great playspots and a dedicated section for safety & rescue courses.
In addition to this 8km whitewater classroom the Centre also has great river-side facilities with a main centre, coaching department, 4 satellite classrooms and Riverside Café.
Main centre
The main centre houses the centre reception and Riverside Café as well as large changing rooms (with free hot showers!), and is the place where most boaters start their whitewater day. The reception also carries a full compliment of all the latest boating magazines as well as some boating essentials including nose clips and river knives!
Coaching department
The coaching department is located slightly upstream of the main centre and is a purpose-built coaching facility with main lecture room, changing rooms (again with free hot showers!), and an adjacent car park. The satellite classrooms (which double as race controls), are situated at key points on rivers edge and combine with the coaching department to provide dedicated coaching facilities for all CT students. Additionally all the classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art resources providing the opportunity for lectures, presentations and video-playback.
Café
The Riverside Café is in the main centre and overlooks Café Wave (one of the most popular playspots on the river). Serving a fantastic selection of home cooked snacks, meals, cakes, cakes and cakes and is the perfect pit-stop for hungry boaters!
Barbecues and group feasts can also be arranged – for more details please contact the café on 01678 522 301.
There are also picnic benches situated near the main centre and the coaching building where you can spread out your sarnies in comfort.
Equipment & PPE
CT has strong links with Palm River Equipment, 5.10 Shoes and Lyon Equipment, which means our storeroom is very well stocked. For the safety and rescue courses there are full sets of PPE (drysuits, helmets, BA's and boots), available to use as well as a huge range of technical equipment ranging from throwbags and karabiners to tripods and jumars.
In addition boats and kit may be available to use on some courses (subject to availability – please contact the Coaching Department for further details).
Boats
For coaching course students, boats, spraydecks and paddles are available to use free of charge.
