Training Courses
In the current global climate there can be no denying the relevance of swiftwater and flood rescue training. There have been many incidents throughout the world of rescuers with inadequate or no training getting themselves and colleagues into trouble in on or near water. The Rescue 3 courses provide suitable training for all personnel who may be deployed in this type of environment or who need to take on a training role within a rescue organisation.
The training courses available are an intensive mix of classroom and river-based sessions with four levels of training being available - Awareness, Operations, Technician, Instructor and Management. All these courses are internationally recognised and form the core training for many emergency services, rescue teams and water professionals. In addition where applicable these courses comply with the standards laid down by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
Training courses are valid for three years and upon completion students receive a certificate, ID card, badge and skill sheet co-signed by themselves and the instructor. A copy of this is sent to Rescue 3 International in the USA who then enter the student onto their database.
Several Rescue 3 International courses that are run by Rescue 3 (UK) are approved by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). These courses include SRT Unit 1, Advanced, Rescue Boat Operator, Rope Rescue Technician and Instructor courses. This means that all students completing these modules will receive a number of credits towards a higher education degree. These credits can be used towards a degree or certificate of continuing professional development from any UK or European Higher Education Institute.
